Our Leather.

Leather is a luxurious and sustainable material.

Cow and sheep hides are a by-product of the meat industry that would otherwise end up in landfill.

By using what we already have, we avoid waste and making man-made materials using harsh chemicals.

  • How can I make a return or exchange?
Faulty products can be returned up to 30 days from date of purchase or date of delivery (whichever is later) free of charge, as long as it hasn't been used by the customer. The item should be returned with tags attached and in original packaging. For change of mind returns, you also have 30 days to return at your cost. The item should also have original tags attached and be returned in original packaging. We will request photos of the product to ensure there isn't customer damage before commencing return. Please go to www.wirihanasupplies.co.nz/returns for more information and to fill out a returns form online.
  • How do I care for my leather goods?
Use only warm water and a cloth to remove dirt and grime. Avoid using harsh detergents and chemicals which can compromise the leather. If your leather is natural coloured, you may use a weak hand soap - please avoid if your leather is dyed. Please be aware that like a skin, leather can soak in stains and sometimes it is best to not touch it or you risk making it worse. Stains can add to the patina and give it a vintage look and also showcases the story of your bag so we suggest leaving it as is.
  • Can I include a personalized gift message with my order?
Yes, in your shopping cart you will be given the opportunity to add a gift note with a personalized message. If you are already in checkout, no problem! You may go back to your cart and add the gift note before completing your purchase.
  • Does Wirihana Supplies offer gift wrapping?
Every purchase from Wirihana is specially packaged in a Wirihana cardboard box, and inside your gift is wrapped in tissue paper and a card. You may personalize this card in the checkout and I will hand write it myself. If you wish for gift wrapping beyond this, please reach out and we will see what we can do.
  • What is sustainable luxury?
Sustainable luxury means creating beauty that endures, while leaving a positive impact on the world. It's about creating those products with a deep respect for the environment and the artisans who make them.
  • How is leather sustainable?
Because people still eat cow and sheep, their hides become a by-product that can either be used or discarded. We do not kill animals for their hide and we do not use exotic animals - only those that are killed for meat. Leather is luxurious and it would be a shame for it to go to waste. This way, we also avoid using heavy chemical processes to manufacture a man-made material.
  • What leather do you use and where is it sourced?
We use full and top grain sheep and cow leather, sourced locally in Indonesia. Full and top grain are the best cuts of leather. Our leather forms a patina which is the hallmark of high-quality leather.
  • Are Bags by Wirihana bags handcrafted?
Wirihana Supplies leather goods are handcrafted—from first sketch to final stitch — using heritage techniques passed down by generations of master artisans in Indonesia.
